Jacaranda City in the Spring

Todd and I went driving around our little patch of Pretoria this morning with the express intention of getting some pictures of the jacaranda trees! These are abundant, vibrant purple trees that have bloomed all over the city. In fact, Pretoria's nickname is "the jacaranda city."

The blooms are such a terrific shade of purple that they almost look neon laying on the pavement. The jacarandas have made such a nice, spring-ish addition to our busy city roads :)

Todd and I miss not being at home to see what the trees are doing there...our little corner of Tennessee is practically known for its beautiful fall colors. But the spring color here is proving to be just as lovely!
